Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AttentionTag.

General

What is AttentionTag?

AttentionTag is an AI-powered engagement platform for live sessions — online meetings, lectures, webinars, and physical classrooms. Using on-device computer vision and machine learning, it measures real-time engagement signals (emotion, focus, gaze, gestures, drowsiness) through each attendee's webcam or venue camera — all without sending any video to the cloud. Speakers receive live engagement alerts and a dashboard of audience attention; attendees get personalised nudges to stay focused.

Who is AttentionTag for?

AttentionTag is built for four main audiences:

Individual professionals — speakers, coaches, trainers, and tutors who run sessions on Zoom or Microsoft Teams and want real-time feedback on audience engagement.

Educational institutions & enterprises — universities, corporate L&D teams, and training companies that use platforms like Moodle and want engagement analytics at scale.

Physical venues — schools, conference organisers, and event hosts who can connect AttentionTag to RTSP-compatible cameras in classrooms or auditoriums.

Platform providers — software companies that want to embed AttentionTag's engagement layer directly into their own product via our JavaScript SDK.

How does AttentionTag work?

When a session starts, AttentionTag runs more than eight computer vision and speech models directly in each attendee's browser — no video ever leaves their device. The models analyse signals such as eye gaze, facial expression, head pose, and drowsiness, then send only the derived engagement scores to our platform. Speakers see a live engagement feed and receive alerts when attention drops; an AI assistant can automatically nudge attendees or trigger follow-up actions. All processing happens at the edge, keeping the experience private and low-latency.

Privacy & Data

Is video data stored or sent to the cloud?

No. All vision and speech models run entirely in the attendee's browser. No video frames or raw camera data are ever transmitted to our servers. Only the derived engagement signals (numerical scores) leave the device, and those are encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not share any data with third parties.

Does attendee participation require consent?

Yes. AttentionTag requests explicit consent from each attendee before any analysis begins, and displays their consent status throughout the session. Organisations can also configure a custom consent modal to match their own policies and jurisdiction requirements.

Integrations

Which platforms does AttentionTag support?

AttentionTag currently supports:

Microsoft Teams — via the AttentionTag app available in the Teams Marketplace.
Moodle — via our LMS plugin for educational institutions.
Physical venues — via RTSP-compatible cameras in classrooms, auditoriums, and conference halls.

How do I add AttentionTag to Microsoft Teams?

A Teams admin needs to approve and install the AttentionTag app from the Microsoft Teams Marketplace. Once approved, it becomes available to all users in your organisation. See our Microsoft Teams integration guide for the full walkthrough.
